Coral Rock by Amaya Hotel is located in Hikkaduwa, 137 km from Colombo Airport. Hikkaduwa is well known for its coral banks and exotic fish. Along the main street of this small resort town there are numerous small restaurants, bars and many shops with garments and souvenirs, etc. From the Amaya Reef Hotel, you can take a safari down the Madhu River in Balapitiya, visit the turtle hatchery in Kosgoda, the awesome Sinharaja rain forest in Deniyaya, or see the moonstone mines and cinamon plantation in Meetoyagoda. There is also the blow hole in Dickwella, stilt fishing in Weligama and the bird sanctuary in Patana.
The open Catamaran Restaurant is virtually on the beach and serves both western and eastern food and also has theme nights which feature Indian, Chinese, Mongolian, Italian and Sri Lankan food in buffet and barbecue style. The larger indoor lounge restaurant is used mainly for weddings and banquets. The evenings at the hotel are peaceful with calypso bands, magic shows or cultural shows featuring devil dancers, with the occasional nightclub. Other facilities provided by the hotel includes - two bars, including garden bar. TV lounge, jewellery shop, swimming pool, water polo, volleyball, table tennis, darts.
